GCE Group to assess condition of Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant

GCE-Nord (a member of GCE Group) and Rosatom signed a contract for condition assessment of equipment and pipelines of the chemical unit of Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant.

In the course of the project, the experts are going to inspect mail metal and welded joints, assess the actual condition and residual life of the facility. The design and operations documents will be examined as well. The final stage will consist in issuing the facility performance certificate. The project deliverables will be then filed for approval to the North-Western Directorate of Restochnadzor.

The Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant (LAES) is an operating power plant, subsidiary of Rosenergoatom Group since 2002. The plant consists of 4 1000 MW power-generating units. By January 1, 2017, the total electrical power generated by Leningrad NPP amounted to 971 billion 589 million kWh. It is more than any other power plant in Eastern Europe and in Russia produced for the respective period.
