Previously unknown details of five man-made disasters will be disclosed and discussed at the XI International Forum on Industrial Safety in Saint-Petersburg.

On 27-30 May, 2013, in Saint-Petersburg GCE Group will host representatives of big industrial companies, state supervisory authorities and intergovernmental organizations from 15 countries for the joint discussion of vital issues of industrial safety.

The XI International Forum on Industrial Safety is held within the frames of the Year of Ecological Culture and Environmental Protection in the Commonwealth of Independent States. During the past years the Forum has been attended by delegations from 32 countries. Within the frames of the Forum, the Conference is to be held in "MoskovskyeVorota" Congress Center ("Holiday Inn Saint-Petersburg – MoskovskyeVorota" Hotel, MoskovskyProspekt 97А). In 2013 India, Estonia, Bulgaria and Kirghizia are new participants of the Conference.

The Forum delegates focus their attention on the detailed analysis of emergency response operations and lessons learned from the most memorable man-made disasters of the last years: the explosion caused by ammonium nitrate at a fertilizer plant in Texas (USA), catastrophic flooding and environmental disaster in the city of Krymsk (Russia), accident with a tanker near the Lorelei rock (Germany), and the wreck of the "Kolskaya" drilling rig in the Sea of Okhotsk (Russia).

The lessons of the Bhopal disaster in India, the most serious in the history of mankind, will be discussed for the first time in Russia with participation of Indian experts.

The Forum speakers: Sandra Ashcroft, Chair of the Working Group on Implementation of the UNECE Convention on the Transboundary Effects of Industrial Accidents; Alexander Volkov, Chief Technical Labour Inspector of the Russian Oil, Gas and Construction Workers' Union; VladislavBolov, Head of the Center "Antistikhiya" of EMERCOM of Russia; Vladimir Pimenov, Chief of Section for State Supervision over Hydroelectric Power Plants and Hydrotechnical Structures of Rostekhnadzor of Russia; MiroslavLipar, Head of the IAEA's Operational Safety Section; Chris Mawer, Vice-President HSSE and Engineering in Russia SPU at BP; MadhukarGarg, Director of CSIR-Indian Institute of Petroleum; and many others.

The event is organized by GCE Group, Consultant No. 1 in the sphere of production engineering (as rated by "Expert" Rating Agency).
