GCE Group’s environmentalists have developed the draft design of the Sanitary Protection Zonearound the refinery “KINEF Ltd.” in connection with the modernization of the facilities
07.08.2012

The environmentalists from GCE Group have developed a draft design of the Sanitary Protection Zone for “KINEF” (a subsidiary of the holding company “Surgutneftegaz”) in connection with the phased commissioning of the sites for deep oil processing, including a manufacturing complex of high-octane gasoline components, which is scheduled to be launched in 2015.

“KINEF Ltd.” is the only refinery in the North-West of Russia. The Sanitary Protection Zone (SPZ) serves as a barrier between the enterprise and residential buildings. At the border of the zone the impact of the plant on the neighboring residential settlements did not exceed the standard values.

The SPZ draft design of the “KINEF Ltd.” has already passed the examination by the Rospotrebnadzor at the federal level. According to the document the Sanitary Protection Zone has a  length of 3000 meters in the south, south-west, west, north and north-east directions, 4175 meters is in the southeast direction and 3650 m is in the north-west direction.
These sizes were substantiated by the experts from GCE Group, after making the necessary calculations of dispersion of pollutants in the air at the border zone.

Fact Sheet: In GCE Group structure, GCE Ecology is engaged in consulting in the field of environmental legislation. The company experts have participated in such socially significant projects as the construction of Olympic facilities in Sochi, automobile factories of Nissan, Toyota, and in the development of oil field of “Gazprom”, TNK-BP and Lukoil.
