GCE Group delegation participated in XXI World Petroleum Congress in Moscow


GCE Group delegation from BRICS and the European Union countries headed by the Company’s President, Alexander Moskalenko, took part in XXI WPC – key event of the year for international oil and gas sector.

The event opened its doors for more than 4200 delegates, including 400 top-managers and executives of oil corporations from 80 countries. World Petroleum Council headquartered in London is the organizer of the Congress. Top experts, analysts and specialists of oil and gas sectors shared experience and opinions on the latest achievements, technologies and global oil resources management. The Congress provided a ground for a fruitful dialog focused on efficient management of energy resources consumption. The delegates of the event took part in plenary sessions, presentations business lunches and round tables.

This Congress was traditionally very fruitful for GCE Group from the points of view of business development, cooperation enhancement and experience sharing.

Johannes Penzkofer, GCE Group Vice-President in Europe, has presented the report “Energy Efficiency in Use. What has been changed after ISO 50001 introduction?” during the session focused on energy efficiency and environmental protection technologies. «I’m absolutely sure that structured approach to energy efficiency will remain one of the major targets and activities of industrial companies for the next five years. This process is intimately connected with personal contribution of each employee into energy efficiency, - Mr.Penzkofer declared during XXI World Petroleum Congress.

GCE Group Director for oil and gas sector communication, Alexey Zakharov, presented his report «ORC plants application for secondary energy resources recycling in oil and gas sector enterprises».

Alexey Zakharov focused in his presentation on the possibility to consume secondary energy resources by oil and gas sector enterprises during extraction, transportation and refining processes. Secondary resources application is based on Organic Rankine Cycle – the process which allows generating electrical energy using gas and liquids thermal energy. Besides, the speaker provided examples of GCE Group experts’ research results related to ORC plants implementation, practical and theoretical efficiency aspects, perspectives for industrial application, advantages and disadvantages.

The largest petroleum exhibition dedicated to innovations in oil and gas extraction and transportation processes, petrochemical technologies, associated petroleum gas recovery and state-of-the-art equipment was running simultaneously with WPC. GCE Group also participated as an exhibitor with a 72-meter booth traditionally designed in marine style. Meetings were held in the business area of the booth while all other guests had the opportunity to enjoy live music and take professional photos with a captain and true steering wheel.
