GCE Group and LUKOIL-Nizhegorodniinefteproekt will prepare LUKOIL-Komi for certification in compliance with international standards

Experts of GCE Group, in cooperation with LUKOIL-Nizhny Novgorod Research and Design Institute for Oil Refining(LUKOIL-Nizhegorodniinefteproekt), are to implement the energy management system (EMS) at the oil and gas production company LUKOIL-Komi.

The project is developed in realization of the LUKOIL Group Technological Policy oriented to increase in energy efficiency of all Group subsidiaries and their further certification in compliance with the requirements of ISO 50001 international standard in the period from 2013 to 2015.

Starting from 2011, development and implementation of the energy management system with its further certification have been realized as pilot projects at several LUKOIL subsidiaries. The first of them were Pokachevneftegaz (LUKOIL-West Siberia) and LUKOIL-Kubanenergo. At the same time the extensive preparatory work was done to unify corporate documentation regulating energy saving measures at all LUKOIL companies. Since 2011 the Group has had corporate standards in the sphere of energy saving and energy efficiency developed and approved. One of them – "Energy Saving. Program of Energy Saving and Energy Efficiency Improvement of LUKOIL Group companies. General Requirements to Development and Documentation" – was developed by experts of GCE Group in 2011.

"Since 2011 LUKOIL has been implementing a large-scale energy saving program to be realized in 2011-2013. The expected savings in fuel and energy resources can amount up to RUR 10.7 billion," - said Sergey Sheludyakov, Head of Energy Audit Department of LUKOIL-Nizhegorodniinefteproekt.

The EMS development for LUKOIL-Komi will be effected until the end of this year. As noted by Dmitry Tuliev, Head of Energy Audit and Standardization Department of GCE Group, the major goal of the project customers is to attain the comprehensive functioning of all components of the energy management system and their compliance with the ISO 50001 standard, which would lead to considerable efficiency improvement in use of fuel and energy resources.

A diagnostic survey is being now held at LUKOIL-Komi in order to estimate the current level of the energy management system.

GCE Group experts will organize a seminar course for LUKOIL-Komi employees and, in cooperation with colleagues from LUKOIL-Nizhegorodniinefteproekt, develop and implement the energy management system in compliance with the ISO 50001 standard. "The EMS implementation will be organized with active direct participation of LUKOIL-Komi employees involved in energy consumption cycles," - Dmitry Tuliev emphasized.

As stated by Sergey Sheludyakov, the experience of cooperation with GCE Group will be used in their future work under the approved schedules of the Holding companies certification in compliance with the requirements of ISO 50001 in 2013-2015.

Experts of GCE Group were among the first in Russia to start developing energy management systems in compliance with international standards, and the first such project was implemented for SIBUR in 2010.

In the structure of GCE Group, GCE-Energy, the largest energy auditor in Europe, is the company focused on consulting in the sphere of energy efficiency. Among the company customers there are subsidiaries of Gazprom, Rosneft, RUSAL, EVRAZ Group, SIBUR, TGK-1, OGK-1 and many others.
